Adamas is the largest village in Milos and is the perfect place to stay for convenience as it has lots of restaurants, accommodation, and shopping options. It has lots of natural shade on the long stretch of beach [not to mention the many fish taverns].Thank you so much for all this information - do you think Plaka itself would be a good place to stay, or is Pollonia definitely better? There are three main towns in Milos: Pollonia, Adamantas, & Plaka. This is the Greek island that Greeks themselves long to visit, and one which is highly worthy of consideration when planning a family vacation in Greece. Get in quick before the crowds from Santorini decide to detour to this magnificent Cycladic Island and don’t forget the other gems in the area such as Paros and Naxos too! I can’t rave enough about this little island and part of me is happy that it’s not as well known as Santorini, Mykonos or any of the other more popular Greek islands. Sadly, there is no museum and the statue of Milos which was found near the theater stands on display in the Louvre.Plaka – The town of Plaka is definitely worth a visit. Cycladic Milos is unspoilt, authentic and genuine. It is located across the street from Apanemia. Lonely Planet. Milos is surprisingly full of things to do for a small island.
I swore to go back and I’m hoping I can see that promise through someday. The owner is friendly and will help you with anything you ask. Hands down, highly recommend.
