But while most everything LOOKED convincing, more or less, relatively speaking, I just did not care about anything in this movie. This has been watched more than twenty times by my six-year-old daughter who is a big Tintin fan.
An Exciting,Ultra-Realistic and Absorbing Animated Adventure As a metaphor for the script, the opera singer Bianca Castafiore pops up out of nowhere and just as quickly disappears for no apparent reason other than to (I'm guessing) squeeze in as many Herge characters into the film as possible. Brilliant - I Do Hope Speilberg Produces More of These ! Directed by Peter Jackson. Bon chance, Monsieur Tintin! You have to remember that it aimed at the American market who I don't think have heard of Tintin but other than that, I loved the film.
Based on the comic book Prisoners of the Sun, where Tintin and Haddock head to South America to find a cure for seven cursed scientists including their good friend Professor Calculus, who found the mummified remains of Rascar Capac and brought them back to Europe.
Tintin was something of a folk hero to many of the boys at school, although we did'nt know much about him and the books were hard to find. An action packed animated film, I first saw "The Adventures of Tintin: The Secret Of The Unicorn" in the cinema. Unfortunately, the plot felt like something rehashed from about a million other shallow adventure stories.
Great for children and adults alike, the characters are faithfully recreated, the atmosphere is very 'Herge', the animation is unsurpassed, the acting top notch, the action sequences brilliant, the comedic moments genuinely funny, and topping it all is Tin Tin's faithful sidekick Snowy. This is largely due to the film's plot being an amalgamation of more than one of Herge's books, more's the pity. Status Planned; Runtime 90 mins. How many times should the red-haired Tintin be knocked unconscious? The realism and attention to detail is mindblowing. We are sure that the famous producers will ensure that the film is top class and keeps everyone entertained. Well suited to the big screen and shot in 3D, it proved to be a fantastic watch on the big screen, making the really dramatic scenes blare out. Tintin and his dog, Snowy, embark on wild adventures with the help of Thompson and Thomson, Captain Haddock, Professor Calculus, and others. The storyline itself moves at a nice pace, with journalist Tintin picking up certain information on the legendary, titular ship prior to buying it in miniature to include in his newspaper report, accompanied by his loveable dog Snowy. An updated version of the 1990s animated series featuring a trio of wacky characters causing mayhem on the Warner Bros. studio lot.
If the celluloid spirit of the intrepid adventurer Indiana Jones could be peeled off a movie reel, pumped up with a shot of espresso, reshaped into the form of an animated boy-reporter and sent off on a rollercoaster ride that spanned the globe … The Adventures of Tintin would be the result. I needn't have been worried. Tintin travels to Peru to rescue some archaeologists from an old inca curse.
