It definitely errs on the side of a refined palate, rather than typical comfort food (or dishes that would please my young children).I have never read one of her cookbooks (and I've read them all) where I wanted to make ONE thing. In her introduction Nigella Lawson informs readers how when she was 16/17 years old she decided to be Italian - this wasn't just a passing phase … If you don't have a lot of Italian cookbooks, this is a good one to get - entertaining stories, beautiful photographs and interesting recipes.I'm the kind of person who reads cookbooks cover to cover, even the weird "pantry" parts where the cookbook authors assume you have never actually used your kitchen before, and I couldn't really get through this one.
Considering how much my family enjoys many of the recipes from her other books, I'm a little disappointed by the offerings of this one.
My favorite recipes were the desserts. Rella on July 01, 2013 978-0-7704-3702-2 is the book at the library that says on the front "Easy Italian-Inspired Recipes" The picture on the library book is neither one of the two "Nigellissima" books shown here at EYB.

The photos are gorgeous, but the recipes all struck me as kind of boring, and the book is poorly edited. So. most interesting was the chocolate pasta...Reading her recipes is like listening to her talk on her cooking shows... a dash of this .. add a good slug of that.. making her recipes is a joy!I love this thread!
