I have never heard of Musiq Soulchild until this song, and from what I’ve heard, he is impressive. It gives me that 90s R&B type of vibe when music was about the lyrics and the natural voice. This song is a perfect “get over your ex” song. It seems to be about exploring the beginning of a new relationship, comparing her lover to a butterfly, and wanting them to open to her like a butterfly going through a metamorphosis.
