It's a decent, if flawed, pop album, its good bits good enough to keep her filling stadiums as big as the gulf between her ideas and her music. Some songs showcase vocals, while some others make you want to dance. For better and for worse, Artpop meets the mandate (of cranking up the cray). It is an art. As an album itself, Gaga offers probably her best yet. After play the rocker in Born This Way, ARTPOP brings the dance and more pop than ever Gaga. I really enjoyed listening to this album.
Yes, there are a few weak points, but I think this album as a whole is very artistic (as the title suggests) and less repetitive than Born This way. Most of the songs are very original and experimental (particularly Aura, Venus, G.U.Y., Sexxx Dreams, ARTPOP, Swine), but it also contains some catchy light pop songs and some beautiful ballads.
